New Hartford Diner: Reviews & Ratings
I had really enjoyed the food from here and the drive is always a nice scenic drive into new Hartford area, looks small from the outside but inside is pretty good sized ! The staff were quick and kind very family vibed environment !
A local diner located in a small plaza next to a liquor store. They serve breakfast all day, but they also offer a variety of sandwiches and entrees. The pancakes are made to order and you can pick from a choice of mix-ins, such as chocolate chips and banana. This place really exceeded our expectations in its quality of food.
January 2023 - It was nice to have breakfast here during a time when business was slow. It's very busy on the weekends to the point people are waiting to get a table. We enjoyed our two combination menu choices, one with a waffle, eggs over medium and sausage, and the other with home fries, toast, scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. Service was attentive and friendly. The breakfast favorites menu had unique choices, especially for those familiar with southeastern fare. Specials had something for just about everyone. # This diner has been open for more than a few years, first just as a breakfast place only open in the morning, then later adding lunch and expanding seating outdoors and a few extra hours into the afternoon. Eating here the first time this weekend, it was shocking to see how packed the restaurant was with customers! A larger room than expected, every booth and table was full. We had to wait for a place to be cleared and cleaned before we could be seated. Most people were eating breakfast - a lot of eggs and pancakes or waffles. My partner and I came in at eleven but chose to switch to lunch looking at their afternoon specials. Soup or salad comes with lunch, so we tried one of each of the two soups offered, chicken with rice and New England clam chowder. Our waitress brought us two big bowls and oyster cracker packets. Both were good and nicely prepared, but I preferred the chicken with rice. Nice tender squares of chicken, carrots and the right amount of white rice in a well-seasoned chicken broth. The chowder had a good amount of clams and potato. They have no appetizers on the menu, so we decided to share an order of curly fries while we waited for our main dishes. Really good. Crispy, curly and correctly salted. The Short Rib special with mashed potato was flavorful, but as someone who cooks these really well, the rib could have been even more tender and the creamy sauce was different. The Chicken Marsala special I ordered to see how a diner would cook this dish in comparison to a restaurant. It had a small boneless chicken breast with the spinach side as more of a garnish, and a good scoop of mashed potatoes that I added salt and pepper to, but the Marsala sauce the Chef got just right. Everything was good here, but I prefer the place up the road a bit in Barkhamsted I've reviewed on GM several times where everything is very good. As for this diner: service is very friendly; casual interior with tables and booths; loud due to the volume of customers of every age; no alcohol beverages. The price of the two meals with coffee and fries was around $30. each with tax and tip. We brought half of our lunches home. Open seven days a week 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
There was no way to eat this - that wasn't frustrating. It might have been better if it wasn't slightly undercooked. Clearly, they were trying to rush it so that they could get out with the rest of our crew's orders. This masterpiece still arrived last, but I really appreciate the effort. They had a very fun menu! Everything sounded delicious. Even though my pancake was white, it was yummy. The staff was great and friendly.
Absolutely wonderful. The staff was warm and friendly, and the food was great! I'll definitely be back. (I got the hash and eggs... substituted fries for the home potatoes. And, I tried their pancakes.)
A cozy diner located in the old marandino plaza right across from the farmington River. This location offers an amazing specials menu currently with banana foster oancaoe tacos that will help you re-thimk what kind of possibilities breakfast can have! There was a pulled bbq pork on a waffle which was amazing as well with eggs bennedict and hollandaise sauce! Blueberry muffin pancake was ordered in our group and also got a high review from my friend. There is a cozy atmosphere that still feels the same as the first time i went to this diner almost 15 years ago. Quality menu with great service. Will defintely be back
This is a great spot for breakfast! Irish Benedict was phenomenal. THREE eggs over fresh homemade corn beef hash. Portion sizes are generous. Unique items on the specials menu like buttermilk battered chicken smothered in a gravy sauce with sweet potato home fries. Will definitely be back!
This is the best corned beef hash I’ve had in my life! Believe the hype. You can tell it’s fresh and house-made just by looking at it. It’s not overly salty, so you can actually taste the beef. I’ll definitely be back to try some of the other combos. Friendly and very attentive wait staff.
